Welcome to the fifth step of the 6M Challenge of blogging edition where you will get to know 7 blogging mistakes to avoid as a beginner. Hope you have completed the tasks given in the previous post. That is…
- Convert your raw posts into blog posts using SEO tactics from this post
- Publish 3 blog posts
We learned to create blog posts and doing SEO things with that, great! Now let’s see the mistakes that a beginner should avoid while blogging.
Avoid these mistakes
1. Creating blog posts that serve your interests only
When you start blogging, ideas will come to you randomly. Just because it’s a good idea in general — or something that interests you personally — doesn’t mean it’s a good idea for your audience. The reason you’re blogging is to solve problems for your audience and, ultimately, to grow your business.
Solution: Make the content around what your audience wants to discover and know, not what you want to tell them.
2. don’t be too stiffy with your writing
Most of the people who see your post aren’t going to read the whole thing. If you want to keep them interested, you have to compel them to keep reading by writing in a style that’s effortless to read. People want to feel like they’re reading real people, not robots. So loosen up your writing and get rid of the jargon.
Solution: Write blogs that are more conversational and feel personable.
3. writing on really big topics
When people start blogging, they generally want to write on really big topics like:
- How to do to affiate marketing
- Business earning methods
Topics like these are far too broad. There are so many details and nuances in such topics. remember that more specific topics tend to attract smaller, more targeted audiences
Solution: Begin with a clear and concise idea
4. Dumping your ideas
Sometimes when we get a great idea we are excited about, it’s really tempting to just sit down and let it flow out of us. But then it became only a sub-par blog post. You need to understand this that most people are going to scan your blog posts, not read them, so it needs to be organized really well for that to happen.
Solution: Structure your blog with a proper template, outline, and sub-headings.
5. Give your audience something to take away everytime
If you notice, almost all the results on the first page of Google are writing about conceptual, vague ideas. People are relying on conceptual content instead of concrete. How can your blog stick out? You can include actual, actionable steps to make your post more engaging.
Solution: Include actionable steps to do(just as we do in tasks to be completed)
6. Use data and research to back up the claims
Most people procrastinate to use data analytics as evidence of their post or claim. Arguments and claims are much more compelling when rooted in data and research. Data-driven content catches people’s attention in a way that fluffy arguments do not.
Solution: Use data and research as evidence to support your arguments.
7. Use examples to backup your content
People aren’t adding enough examples to support their statements. Giving examples increase the credibility of your content and make it more trustworthy.
Solution: Provide content-related examples and facts.
