Okay, before starting let me tell you a greedy fact on Affiliate Marketing. A just beginner affiliate marketer earns a minimum of Rs10,000 per month. And an affiliate marketer with just 1 year of experience can earn up to Rs5,00,000+ per annum. I am not exaggerating the amount. I told you the minimum amount. Affiliate Marketing is the highest paid profession with no income limit.
As an affiliate marketer, you can promote products from many different companies and earn commissions from all of them. How much money can you make as an affiliate marketer? The simple answer is that there is NO LIMIT. It depends on your niche and the amount of work you put in. Before starting, one more thing, You need to manage your expectations. You won’t earn the big bucks right off the bat, but don’t let this discourage you. Now let’s deep dive into our affiliation journey…
decide a platform
The very first step is to “Decide a Platform” where you will do affiliation. The major platforms where you can do affiliation are:
- Blogs
- YouTube
- Paid Ads
- Forums
Wait..do you really need to be on these platforms? Actually no, you can do affiliation without having your own audience too. There are some other platforms like Pinterest, Quora, Reddit, Scribd… and many more. We will discuss their strategies in the next posts. These free platforms require more hard work and pay you less, result??? After 1 or 2 years, you have to start making your own audience base to have strong hands in affiliation. So why waste 2 years on free methods. Better to give a solid and secure start.
So firstly and importantly, you need to decide on a platform. If you can cop up and really passionate then I will suggest you start making an audience on multiple platforms at the same time as Technical Sapien did. Now let’s get to the second step…
find your affiliate marketing niche
The second, and most important, step is to find a niche. Let me be honest, if you’re starting a blog today, you will facing a ton of competition. Stats estimates that the number of bloggers in the U.S will reach 40 million by 2021. So to stand the best chance of success, niche down. In simple words, choose a sub-niche under your niche. Choose a sub-niche that focuses on a specific category.
For Example, The niche of “food” is an enormous category. Rather than tackling that, try something more specific, like Indian food, or Japanese food.
TIP: Choose something you’re interested in. Many affiliate sites die due to a lack of consistency. So at the very least, if you’re passionate about a topic, you’ll find it much easier to press on when the going gets tough.
Advice from gary
Don’t worry if you’re not an expert in the field. As Gary Vaynerchuk puts it, “Document it, don’t create.” Documenting what you’ve learned can make great content and attract people who are interested in following your progress. But if you are not good at writing or don’t have enough time to write, no issues.
There is a solution for that too: Outsourcing. Of course, it will take some money, but it will loosen your burden. If you’re outsourcing the content, then it’s better to work with seasoned experts in that sub-niche, which can lead to more traffic, engaged visitors, and more affiliate sales.

Now let’s understand the types of affiliation before selecting the products. It’s a really important step to strategize your affiliation. There are three types of affiliate programs to choose from.
- Low appealing niche products with high payouts(Example: Hosting services)
- High appealing niche products with low payouts(Example: Games)
- Affiliate programs for high appealing niche products with high payouts(Example: Credit Cards)
I have provided these suggestions by my experience only, so better to explore yourself as much as your can.
